If there's a Queen S,

it would most certainly be me.

No, not Serena you GG watchers. (though deep inside I kinda wish I am :p)

It's queen of sl-ee-ping, my dears. I woke up at 2pm today (which gives me no reason whatsoever to take anymore naps), and yet I could even sleep again from 8pm till 10pm. Hohoho...

Sleeping Beauty's talking, yo.

OKOK, I promise after today there will be NO MORE posts about me wasting my time sleeping etc etc. My posts will be about efficiency after today. Watch me! :)

SIGHH*

Consequences of choosing sleep over anything else? You miss out a whole lot of fun and excitement in what life has to offer.

:(

Like how I missed yet another baddy session today. AND the awesome thai dinner they went to; and patrick taking a whole lot of pics and had to post it on the websitee. Hehee. Ehh why lah must snap snap all when I'm not there. My fault I guess cause they did ask me to go- but I already had dinner plans. And the fact that Pat was looking all around for me at the courts did make me feel better ;)

I know, I made it sound damn dramaaa right? Thing is, how can I enjoy doing something so much and want to do it so badly, yet I allow sleep take over things that I enjoy? How can I even aim or dream to get into the team now? Talk about discipline.

P.S. Weather's been so lovely these days and I spent it sleeeping. I should be out wearing my shorts & mini skirts! Hahah.. Or at least.. do something productive. Like maybe start looking those finance notes. (ugh)

PPS. Why is it that I understand so much better when friends explain to me finance, it's like I engage and I get it. But reading the damn lecture notes is a whole different story. Boo.

No boundaries

... by Kara DioGuardi

**

Seconds hours so many days
You know what you want but how long can you wait
Every moment last forever if you feel you’ve lost your way
What if your chances are already gone
Started believing that I could be wrong
But you give me one good reason
to fight and never walk away

Coz hear I am — still holding on!

Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
You’ll make it through the pain (or through all your aches and pains)
Weather the hurricane
To get to that one thing

When you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you’ve almost gave up on your dreams
Then take it by the hand and show you that you can

You can go higher
You can go deeper
There are no boundaries

Above and beneath you
B-reak every rule coz there’s nothing between you
and your dreams

Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe

**

Oh my. I am deeply in love with this song.

It's the Americon Idol 2009 Season 8 finalist song, lyrics by Kara DioGuardi. I've loved every single finalist song, from 'a moment like this' to 'inside your heaven' to 'this is my now' and this one didn't disappoint me.

But why oh why! I wanted Adam Lambert to win. :( I didn't catch this season as compared to last season (no astro here mar), but I did watch the finals at D's. And despite Kris Allen portraying a more boy-ish look and kicked ass with 'aint no sunshine' with the piano, however when Adam performed, it's like... I just knew he was gonna get it and wanted him to win.

then and there.

Oh well. I wanted Chris Daughtry to win also what 2 seasons ago. He got 4th place instead. But look at now, he's doing so much better than Taylor Hicks. So I guess it doesn't really matter if you do become champion or not, because if you believe you are a star inside, and your fans believe in you, then there's no reason why you will not make it to the top. because you truly are already a star inside you :)

More of the news can be read here.

A pic of the winner in my heart(teehee):

A more boyish look of Adam.

The other pics of his are very rock-star gothic-ish lol. Go google him kay! :)
Love love!~

Gardasil

I just got my 3rd dose of Gardasil today.

For those who don't know about Gardasil, 'GARDASIL is the only cervical cancer vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of human papillomavirus (HPV): 2 types that cause 70% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases', quoted from this website. More can be read there!

To cut it short, it's to prevent cervical cancer. And apparently, it's the only cancer we can prevent?

So all the ladies out there, if possible, please go get yourself vaccinated too!

Afterall, prevention is better than cure :)

The Enchanted Maze- 12.04.2009

OK, so today wasn't exactly my day. I was too lazy to get my ass out of bed to play badminton. FFK-ed a friend. :( for a fewtimes already actually sigh. At work, for the first time I dropped and broke a glass. I felt so horrible after that my boss had to ask me to calm down. You can't imagine how I felt there and then. But my day (or rather night) brightened up at a poker homegame. thank you derek and shaun for inviting/organizing :) all the poker kakis. play like pro only. hehee. i was the noobest among all.

Aaanyways, time for some update. The highlight of my Easter break (in which this post was postponed till almost a month later) was my trip to Mornington. And who did I spend this lovely day trip with?

There you go- Yee Leng, Sue Ann, Lainey & I

Very sneaky of them to do this to me :( See if you can notice the obvious!

Upon entering the E.M., lainey wasted no time at all and posed like the statue!

I was the last one to pose, just about when everyone was to leave hehe.
Well what can I say? SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST, my friends :)

Sue with her dear friend- the map.
(I can't read maps for s*** so I just chuck it into my bag)

The first maze we tried!
Aim: to reach the tyre in the middle following the sequence of 3 colours which I can't remember :p

Lol a little boy solved it! Shame on us, girls! :(

Farmyard time! It was Sue's favourite if I'm not mistaken :p

The little boy is sooo cute!! I swear. he kept playing 'chasing' with the duck and lamb.

The UP DOWN maze;
like you must go up, then down, then up to achieve the end spot.

A beautiful garden that is :)
(with an equally beautiful model too perhaps? hehe)

Glorious, glorious flowers!!

Ahh, the maze we came here for: The Maize Maze
.
Now this reminds me of the Harry Potter's maze. the one where you read in the 4th book? the one where harry and cedric touched the trophy together and was brought to harry's parents' grave and met voldemort... turned out the trophy was a key.. something key. shucks i forgot what's it called. goes to show we lose touch of something when we don't keep up with it often. anyway i shall stop here and go on no more about harry potter.
(don't want my mum to go: "wei lynn how old are you? please act like your age! so old already still talking about harry potter all the time!" *sighs...)

Us with shades; don't we just look COOL? :P

At a japanese garden after the maze; haha my face in a hole! I likee this picture :)

At the souveneir shop; YL and Sue rekindling their childhood princess days! hehe :)

This one, on the other hand... looks like an evil princess :p

See I proved you guys right!!

I was so into the bangles and accessories alike. Like, really really into it. Was so close to buying 2 of them.

Sue really wanted a lollipop!! Ooh reminds me of that lollipop song, mm i love :p

And finally, to call it a day at the 'Enchanted Maze' which in FB, YL calls it the 'not so' enchanted maze ;) hehe- we got somone to take us a group pic. if you realized, the only group pic we had was the one at the entrance, and this one here:

Thank you for the lovely time, girls! I had so much fun I hope you girls had, too! :)
P.S. Thank you for the photos, YL!!

After which we headed to the Mornington Spa to unwind....

Zen-like? Tranquility? It's...

The Mornington SPA!
(btw I didn't come out with Zen-like, it was elaine who kept going on and on about zen)

Ooh nice lightings; to heal the soul eh? ;)

Us girlies posing outside at the 'tranquil' garden before our mud bath!

Now, now... Camwhoring time!! We made full use of that 'swinging couch' in the relaxing room where we were served tea before entering our private bath rooms :)

Introducing our geisha

The sweetest girl you'll ever find~

Miss hot stuff ;)

And finally, yours truly. ;)

The mud bath was so-so.. not worth the money i feel. plus i kept coming out of the bath because it was making me breathless! if i go again next time to mornington spa, i'd probably try the massage instead :p nevertheless it was an experience. and the company that matters, definitely. :)

3.17 in the morning

Hello everyone! I just brushed my teeth in attempt not to have supper. It has never stopped me before though, but tonight it has been going on quite ok so far.. heheh.

Only had a chocolate bar, that's it.

Oh and a piece of bread with coffee.

Not really supper right? Hehee.. as opposed to my normal supper portions lah. :S

Ah, the mention of food. Let me show you something, hehe.

Looks delicious, right??

Took me so much hard work to prepare....

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

NOT.

OK, I was being lame. I didn't prepare the above.

I prepared these instead:

Rice with choy sum, beef

with minced pork & egg as a side dish

More believable right now? :p

Gosh I didn't know I can be quite lame sometimes. Humour me, it's 3.17 a.m yo!! And so many people are still on msn. All these nocturnal people, tsk tsk. ;)

And sigh I didn't know the ERC library closes so early. Couldn't return the DVDs I borrowed yesterday. 'cause it's an overnight loan, maximum can only borrow one night :( hope they don't fine me. I really didn't know. I'm gonna plead my case tomorrow. Quite paranoid already cause the marketing book I borrowed, I returned it one day late and I got fined.
5 bucks.

OK, blogging makes me tired, am gonna go zzz already. Night all!! Sweet dreams.

P.S. I had this dream last night it was so sweet I didn't want to wake up at all. What I couldn't believe was, I actually allowed myself to dream of this. It's been so long.

Britneyy <3

Lost in an image, in a dream
But there's no one there to wake her up
And the world is spinning and she keeps on winning
But tell me, what happens when it stops

Isn't she lovely?
This Hollywood girl

And they say..
She's so lucky
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothign missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

'Lucky'- Britney Spears

My favourite Korean song :)

Introduced by Ken and Jieun :)

P.S. Doing assignment in a completely new, foreign place can be productive. And I realized that if I focus, anything can be done in a short span of time. Sadly, I can't focus long enough on one thing. And once I've done a bit I feel complacent. Not good :(

Decisions are always hard to make- especially when it comes to shopping

I was estatic when badminton session was cancelled today for I thought I could use this time to work on my marketing assignment, do some light shopping for friends' birthday presents, go to the gym, and still don't feel guilty about it, you know...

Sigh.

Sad to say but I did only the shopping part. I'm so bl**dy indecisive, I tell you. I annoy myself so much sometimes that I will scold myself over and over again to be firm- but still to no avail!! Still so indecisive! Like yesterday and today in SUPRE, my god, I spent hours there deciding whether I should get this colour or that colour because for every top they have so god damn many colours. I hate choices sometimes. And after deciding the colour, I will then think again if I should ACTUALLY get the damn top because I have something similar. And SOMETIMES, after buying the good, I will think OVER again if I really do like or need it, and if I don't, I go back to change.

I know I sound like I have to get it my way, but seriously, I'm going to put this indecisiveness to an end.

I don't wanna be 'penny wise pound foolish' !

Of all the shoe-leather costs (an economic term used to explain going around keep finding for the best deal but pardon me if I'm wrong), TIME costs, EFFORT costs, etc. Worth it?? NO!!

P.S. I hope I didn't scare anyone off about my indecisiveness. and I hope you won't freak out if I were to ask you to come shopping with me next time. :( But come to think of it, now that I actually unleash my weakness of being indecisive, at least the next time I do go shopping with any of you, I will not dare to be fickle-minded anymore, right??

ANYWAY, today I had the best yumcha (known as dim sum over here) for brunch! A very big thank you to ILSS for subsidizing it. The money we paid was SO WORTH IT. Hahah, went with Hil, Chings, G and Shash. They crack me up like mad! They counted the plates of dishes we had and the costs JUST to see how much "profit" we earned- in other words, how much we gained from paying that amount la. Btw, 5 of us whooped 40 plates. :)

Kelly Clarkson stays true to herself

Have a read up:

http://www.star-ecentral.com/news/story.asp?file=/2009/5/8/music/3839574&sec=music

I always knew she was different from other artists. ;)

Among my favourites- 'A moment like this' caught my attention during the idol, 'because of you' hit me when i was going through my then relationship breakup, 'breakaway' is one song i can never get bored of, 'never again' stunned me with her rock strong vocals, and 'my life would suck without you' is the song i play most often on my ipod when walking to uni. :D

I heart Kelly Clarkson!

Overwhelmed by the power of knowledge

Today, I attended a marketing tutorial taught by another tutor as I missed mine yesterday. As marketing is a very subjective subject, different tutors have different teaching styles. I happen to really like the one I attended today despite not getting any tutorial answers at all from any powerpoint slides (thus not having to rush and copy answers given and missed out on listening to important points); despite having nothing structured to bring home to as a safety net.

In spite of all these, I walked out of the class a much more knowledgeable person than before. After all the listening and engaging, I understood marketing in a better and different perspective, something you won't get out of the textbook.

Knowledge IS power; and the tutor today oozed out a hell lot of general knowledge and confidence. He even ended the class with: 'Don't think I've covered questions 3 and 4 did I? Oh well it doesn't matter. What we discussed about today is good enough to bring you to the exam'. Yes, he's that confident. Questions 1 and 2 weren't even answered strucutredly, they were answered without us even knowing they were answered because he brought in various companies and scenarios to let us comprehend better.

Mummy has a modified quote altogether though, she goes 'Applied knowledge is Power', which I find to be even more true because if you don't apply it, to what use does it have to you, right?

Knowledge is something I yearn for now and I really hope to buck up on my general knowledge as I'm aware of how "unknowledgeable" I can be when engaging in different conversations with different people. *sighs* in fact, i'm the worst in my family. I'm not kidding! My brothers- younger brothers, always tease me that i'm book smart, but not street smart. Damn. About time I take some action eh? :p

And great hehe- I just found the answer for my last business finance assignment question from google, which consequently led me to a reliable site. hehe. I wasn't sure because everyone had different answers. Thank you Google, there's a reason why you're listed as one of the top global companies in the world.

Benefit of the doubt

In life, it's easy to want things your way and expect things to turn out the way you want it to be. But does it always happen? No.

The same goes to people in life. It's easier to give others the benefit of the doubt, rather than jump into conclusions and start the whole pondering, wondering and eventually accusing thing. because if someone doesn't treat you the way they used to treat you, or the way you expect them to treat you, it could be because of a whole lot of reasons. that person might have just gone through a hard time, or has just heard some bad news which made him or her react in this way, or just has undissolved issues in his or her life. 'to emphatise and not to critisize', i quote.

I wish to give you this benefit and I think I will.

Afterall, we wish to be given this benefit too in circumstances where these do happen. Pardon me if I'm wrong. :)
