aarghh I don't understand why some people can be so fake and be someone whom you're not! why can't you just be yourself?
xx
Bad luck is really throwing itself on me these days. :(

First, of my displease-ment with my unit.

Second, I lost one whole box of shoes! 4 pairs of boots, 2 heels, 2 to 3 flats, a sports shoes.. all inside. One pair of boots cost me a bomb mind you, so does my nine west heels and flats. I am devastated.

Third, I locked myself out today of my unit!! It was outside office hours, so it's either paying the locksmith $160 or stay over at a friend's place. Called the caretaker and paid 50 bucks instead.

Seee what I mean?!?

I'm currently in Franktate, using the internet that I still do not have at my new place. For those Melbourne Uni students, you would know how peaceful Franktate is at night, with its slow, classical music playing in the background, and the many many desktops it offers. Anyhow, coming here to blog, I have so much to say I just needed to let it out.

So far staying on my own is great. I love it. Waking up to making my own breakfast, taking my own sweet time to get ready, and go to uni and run activities for the whole day, come home at night and unwind, sleep. This part, is ok. The other part- my accomodation- not so ok. The unit I got was pretty small, still, no matter. It's the weirdly shaped unit with the large beam from the ceiling that is so annoying! Well if you believe in feng shui (my dad does), it's not good to sleep or study or do anything under a beam. I have a huge beam in the middle of my room and it's making me difficult to move my furnitures around to 'get away' from the beam seeing as my unit is already small.

This, I have to blame my bad decision making skills. My indecisiveness. I have actually chosen a better unit before I chose this unit, but because I kept changing my mind, eventually I settled with this unit which was the least good choice. So many times this has happened to me and yet I have not changed. Really, one of my resolutions this year, and for being 21, is to be able to be steady in making decisions and move on with it.

I quote my mom 'Sometimes in life, we want to get the best, but we really don’t know what is the best.. if can get close to the best, and it will give us much peace of mind, we should decide early and make the most of it, and more importantly use the extra time we have to live life more rather than keep thinking about it.'

There are no other available units for me to move to. But if I happen to come across a good 2 bedroom accomodation, I will break this lease and go on with the new one... I really hope to settle down quick so I can focus on my studies and other curricular activities. Then again, somtimes I think I dawn this upon myself, for being so indecisive, reckless that I think I deserve this as a punishment, to actually hit me, will then I learn.

Putting all these aside, Uni has been great. Despite missing home so much on the first day I arrived here, the consequent days have been really good. Seeing so many familiar faces as you walk from one end of the campus to the other end, exchanging hugs and catching up, going to lectures, taking part in this and that, I really love being a student. Not forgetting that me taking an Advance Mandarin subject this sem is an added bonus to the excitement of my academic life!!

It's 12 a.m. now and I should head home.. Please let it not be raining. The weather these days is so erratic. And cold. I don't like. :(

I'm sitting on my brothers' bed now blogging as my brother, Ken watches his Greys on his desktop intently. Shaun is away at boarding school, and fortunately, I will be seeing him still this Saturday before I fly back to Aussie..

Two little things here that makes me feel.. happy. Lol.. One, that I am writing this while being in quite close proximity with my brother. Despite us doing our own respective thing, the fact that you have someone close by to you just provides that extra comfort, you know?
Second, that I finally have wi-fi at my place. ;p Before this was fixed, only internet was accessible in my parents' room. Goes to show that we have to 'not have' something to only treasure that something..

I can't believe time flies so, so fast. In a blink of an eye, 3 months has passed and in a few days time I'm leaving M'sia once again. This time, however, is a bit different. I do not look forward to going back as much as I looked forward to last year. I guess, after one and a half years in Melbourne, I've learned to realize that home, is home. As much as I enjoy Melbourne, KL is where my heart lies.

Don't get me wrong- I still look forward to a new semester in Aus, my heart just feels a little heavier this time. The main reason I am looking forward to this sem is- I am moving out of IH, where it's grown to be my comfort zone for the past one and a half years. No more food being placed in front of me every meal time, no more dishes being washed by others, no more any problems being solved by the administration of IH without me worrying of anything. And most importantly, no more paying the bill in one go where electricity, rent, water, food, internet is all included. Basically, say hello to the world of independence, Wei Lynn.

I've been wanting to move out and yet I just never got to. This time, I really am! And I am excited! I've already visions of how to beautify my tiny little studio.. Yes, I'll be living on my own. :) After much thought, I thought moving out alone would be best as I really treasure and enjoy my privacy. I would like to keep myself as occupied as I can be yet not till the point of having too much to do.. For starters, no more positions in any clubs/socities for me after this fiscal year.. well, maybe, just one. And I'd LOVE to get a job this sem! Waitressing, barrista.. etc. Anything! Well a girl can't be picky now can she?? Oh please, hire me, melbourne.. allow this girl a chance to grow up.

On another note, I totally gave up on my 3-4 meals a day with only 1-2 portions for each meal mantra. I've been hitting the gym about twice a week for Body Pump class and yet as much as I feel my tiny biceps and triceps have toned up *a little*, my tummy's as flabby as it was 3 months ago. But I told myself, I am in M'sia now and where else to whack the awesome food but here. So I kissed this diet-which-is-not-really-a-diet goodbye. Back to 5 meals a day with lots and lots of snacks in between?? No wonder still single lah. Hehe.. jokingggg :p

Speaking of which... Last Friday I attended the most enjoyable class in the gym ever! It was Body Jam/Latino Jam class which I've been wanting to attend since forever but never had the chance to.. I was 10 mins late and was contemplating if I should join the rest of the ladies (since they were.. at least 1 to 2 generations older than I am). Paiseh lah, all old ladies shaking their booty there, some more they all shake better than I do. Anyways I told myself to scr** it, and I joined them :p No regrets at all!!!!! The instructor played 'Buttons' by PCD when I joined and boyyy, the moves were hot!!!

Then we proceeded to more IN songs like 'feedback' by janet jackson.. one of my favourites :) Then some other latino songs where we did some mambo/salsa (which I sucked). And we ended with the perfect 3 songs combination, the first which I can't remember, Low and In the Ayer by florida.. wooot woot! The moves were sizzling and to be honest, it was my first proper dance class! Did some krumping, is that how you spell it btw?? Some hip hop stuff, yo! and lots of hips booty shaking. *I wonder if he started putting these songs on when he sees a young girl joining in lol* Man I really wished I went for dance classes last time... hope it's not too late now. I've always been very shy when it comes to dancing. :(

Today! Mummy, Mama & I went to Capital Square to search for paintings for the house. I suddenly felt like Lily Vanderwoodsen :p Lol!! Except that I know nothing of paintings la. More like the eye-ing and commenting part onlyy. Haha.. It was fun, I'm sure with a few paintings, it would make the house look even better!

Man I'm gonna miss home.. Of the comfort of being with family members, of throwing tantrums and being spoilt and still they'll love you; of having the luxury of home cooked food and getting almost anything that we want (with limits of course); of hanging out with friends whom I feel so, so at home with; of having pizza and movie nights at my place; of playing mahjong with familyy which I just started recently; of driving to the gym and back and attending my favourite body pump class; of fetching my brother to college and my grandma to her mahjong sessions even...

But I am ready to face a whole new chapter of my life now. As much as people tell me I'll be lonely living alone, I'd like to think that embracing loneliness enables me to do things that I like, e.g. reading, writing, and a whole lot of other stuff. And you're not lonely if you have things that keep you on your toes all the time; if you have self-assurance, if you love and enjoy being on your own. *easy to say only lol hope i'll really feel this way!*

Auspicious Friday- 16/01/2009

This auspicious day would be exactly a month ago. It was the day my family & I shifted house. (again). I finally have internet at my new place yesterday so I shall finish where I started! Can you believe it, I actually started writing this post 3 weeks ago but never got to finish it...

Anyways! Some moving house rituals..

My dad 'fanning' the chacoal. You'll see why later.

My brother and maid pouring one whole pack of rice into the bucket.

And there you go- a pail of water, the fire burning intensely, and a bucket full of rice.

The reason/meaning behind all these?

Well, the pail of water is to ensure that everything we venture in will be smooth sailing; the fire is to ensure that we will always have a burning passion in all that we do; the rice to ensure that we will always have rice to eat at home.

Quite makes sense, right??

**

I took half a day leave from work and not a full day because I had a presentation thing going on at the office. They call it 'the intern get-together' or something like that. My partner put my name down without asking me, you see. I was damn stressed the nights before because I was so not prepared as opposed to other interns from other departments who were presenting. The chairman and 200 other interns from the september, december and january intakes were gonna be there. My powerpoint slides were, let's just say... too simple, nothing fantastic. I saved myself by trying to talk like how I normally do, and thank goodness from reviews I heard, it went quite well!

**
At night I thought I deserved to party a bit! And I did, thanks to Sammy for invites. :D It was her dad's new club opening- Metropol

Sammy darling!
*hotness*
absolutely love partying with her..

This person, on the other hand...

Hehe, joking, andrew!!
At least he was quite happy with his beer la right? ;)

I invited 'mr.choo' too! (the one on the left, his real name is actually kwok thye)
this was taken at the open bar outside.. :)

Not forgetting the person who drove me that night, teng jun :)
we're childhood friends and i'm glad we still keep in touch!

ze ladies ;)

I had sooo much fun that night! Life's too short to be uptight and once in a while we should let go off ourselves and just.. enjoy. With a lil' alcohol, great company, great music, everything is perfect :) Of course, we should know our limits and never do something against our conscience.. this is what i call party clean. And I'm glad I do that, except for the ocassional a little too much of alcohol.. which hardly even happens anymore :)

**

So this ends my auspicious Friday because we finally moved house (no more living out of a suitcase), my presentation went surprisingly well much to my delight, and i had one of the happiest times clubbing with sammy!

An update :p

Hey all! My gosh I've been delaying this post for the past 2 weeks, I'd better get it done now and move forward :) I will not blog about every event but some random events which I find worth remembering :p ok, here we go...

**

1. My darling Siew Mei & I @ Finnegan's, Hartamas

I am so, so happy to see her after one and a half years. And even happier to know that one of the main reasons she came back (even if it's only a month break for her) was to see her aussie friends, like me :) Albeit a short time, we still had fun in our own ways, didn't we, dear? From sipping our martinis (mine) and baileys (yours) at laundry, to clubbing at MOS, to meeting up with our college peeps (which I'll mention soon below :p) and to talking about ANYTHING under the sky :D you know what I mean right? hehe. Love u so much ok!!

Thank you, Pin for coming by despite such short notice i gave you :)

And I remember that this time it's my turn to call, sigh we have this 'this-time-i-call-next-time-you-call' thing between us. i had to call again because he called last week and i couldn't make it.

2. My 2 babes & I at the Apartment, the Curve

:) Ooh aren't they gorgeous?? Sizzling is the right word for it.

One in London, the other in New York, both having something very in common... and we know what it is... hehehe!!! Oh oh!! And I promised SM that I most probably will visit London end of this year! She's gonna be my personal tour guide... Sammy seemed excited at the idea too, and I really hope we can make this happen :)

When you go out with girls like these, it's a must to pose and camwhore a bit... ;)
P.S. Thank you patrick for being our cameraman that night!

One random moment I remember: When the bill came, Sammy asked: Hey Lynnie, your sex on the beach was very cheap ah... hahaha. I really, really miss Sammy!! She's the most amazing girl you'll ever find I tell you! Sexy (oozing from the inside AND the outside), intellectually challenging (i like), beautiful, HILARIOUS, and oh the list goes on...

We haven't gone out one on one yet! We should ask Andrew along, he cracks me up :)

3. The garfield above is now the keychain for my handbag :D

given by Miss Ng vern chui, or more like I asked her to give me, haha... thanks ya girl! she's a new friend I met at work, and she's really nice. one day i'll take a pic with her and post it up okay? ;p

4. Badminton game with my primary school mates last week!

And the lady you see in that picture is my mom. I brought her along 'cause I knew she'd enjoy playing baddy with my friends, seeing that she always brings me to play with hers. The boys were amazed at her skills, and never stopped praising her the whole night. I'm proud of her, because, like mother like daughter, right? :) hehe.

Thank you, Si Yi for inviting me. Though we study miles apart, you in india and me in aus, each time we come back we'll still meet up. Wei Ping, his brother (Wei Keat i think), Caroline and Wei Er were there as well! Really haven't seen them in ages... So happy to have seen them that day.

5. Met up with childhood friends (whom I haven't seen in YEARS) for Dim Sum

On top: Samantha, Ken, Matthew, Shaun and I. It's been way too long! Ever since they migrated to the States, which was 7 years ago, we don't see each other anymore. You know the feeling of seeing some people again after so long when you were close to that someone years back? The feeling's nice! Curious, anxious, excited all mixed up! I'm glad we got to meet up during their short trip back to KL 2 weeks ago... They are currently living in Seattle, and hearing such good reviews about Seattle from them makes me wanna visit there!! Pls, pa and mummy, book a cruise for it sometime next year?

Both families at the Dim Sum place :)

6. My grandma's room-turned-necklace-making-display room

This used to be my grandma's room back in my Idaman house... after renting it out to a Holland couple, the whole house has turned into an even more beautiful house. This room being converted into a necklace making and display room because the tenant simply loves collecting beeds etc worldwide and the necklaces she makes are the prettiest ever!

What mummy & I bought that day.

From a merely 2 necklaces purchase (1 each), to
4 necklaces, a bracelet and keychains... some given as presents to friends!

The most passionate and creative lady, Irene Moose :)

She remembers the origins of every single beed of every necklace she makes. From China to Middle east countries, to everywhere.

And the present she gave me- a scrapbook she made:) it's lovely and i really like it!
so thoughtful of her...

7. Victoria & I on our very own 'wearing tie' day at the office :p

We came up with the silliest, craziest idea ever! Why wear the same old boring clothes to work everyday, right? Must spice up a bit mah... So we decided to imitate the boys and wear ties. Haha. And Ching calls me avril lavigne wannabe, please la... I'm wei lynn, not avril lavigne, okay?? Anyways victoria, we must do something like this again! :)

Vicky & Chris Woo

Why look so stoned, chris? :) he and his insights, wisdom, teachings, i tell you, can drive anyone crazy. nevertheless, i did learn a few things from him la. funny dude. when's it gonna be askchris.com eh? ;)

**

OK, that was quite a long post... I did it! :p haha. If you've read till this far, thank you for being so patient :) I miss writing and blabbing and I hope to do it more frequently now! Good night, peeps :)

Quote of the day: The beauty in life is to give, and keep giving, and expect nothing in return.

**

Anyways! There's so much to blog (and so many pictures to share!) about but I'm just so lazy! Will make a proper update soon, when I have the whole day free =)

Sending Shaun back to KTJ in Seremban today. (he's the one in pink; mummy was the photographer)

He's so grown up already!! So proud of him and Ken.. I know I don't tell them this face to face because I'm a shy sister.. but yes, I am truly proud of them!! And I can't ask for better brothers. If there's one thing I love about them, it's that they're so pure, down to earth, and sincere! And not to mention, the funniest too! They never fail to make me laugh :)

Will update soon, promise. :)

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I just saw/read something, and it really disturbed me. for a while at least.

So many questions I asked myself, why, why?

I really don't like this. And I'm not gonna hold back, stay away or stop being my carefree self anymore.

P.S. This is a totally random post and none of you will understand it, just needed to get it out my chest. There, out.
