It's funny how time flies so fast and how things turn out to be in the end.. The other night we had coffee and pancakes for supper at an Italian cafe on lygon street, and this topic came out.

We were discussing about our common friends who are around the world studying, not just studying overseas, but in prestigious universities. And we can't help but to feel a sense of pride, *ahem ahem, ming!* he even added this sentence: "I rubbed shoulder with so and so before!" Well, I can say the same: "He taught me Math before!" :P

And I thought of my school friends from Wesley Methodist School, how most of them are now in London unis like King's, Imperial, UCL, LSE.. how life was back then in high school where none of us knew where we were heading yet.. The thought of unis weren't even in our conversations and minds.. all we were worried of was PMR andboy girl problems.. hehe..

Then came along upper high of secondary school, where I changed schools.. I still took part in many activities, now for a different reason..to build up my resume. Back in primary and secondary, I was active in this and that because I enjoyed it..Little did I know it helped a great deal in the future.. It did.. Each and every competition, activity I participated in helped build me as a person.. I'm so thankful for that. From mandarin public speaking in primary, to netball and badminton in high schools, dance performances in kdu, and being in leo club etc.

Then came along college.. where everyone started getting serious about the future. I can still remember last year.. when I just enrolled for A-levels in Taylors..I wanted to do Law, and the best place would be the UK.. so A-levels it is.. and as time passes, uni applications started coming in.. my college mates and I were ambitious.. we aimed for only the top unis in UK.. the most fun part was our cambridge application.. It is etched in my memory because a few of us(sm, therez, fan) applied together and sort of assumed that we are getting in.. Haha.. and the thought of how sm and i used to prepare each other for the interview.. about how will we be questioned.. what to wear.. about OUR CALLINGS... then we are meant to get in.. my gosh, so hilarious now that I think of it.. All these are precious memories that I will not forget..

And now there's facebook, and suddenly I see friends whom I havent contacted in ages.. All around the world.. And I can't help but to feel happy, joyful and proud of them.. We were once friends and now we're all grown up, mature, ready to fight the world! (haha) Ready to be ready for the future.. Really, years back I'd never have thought we'd end up in unis around the world..

And now, I'm in Melbourne Uni, along with almost all Sam students and only a handful of a-levelians.. I made new friends, got closer to friends whom were just hi and bye back in Msia.. and I had never regretted it ever since..

Though I admit for a few days I wished I had chosen Warwick instead..(when I saw pics of warwick and chatted with friends there).. but fate brought me here instead and I am happy and contented to be here.. I want to maximize my life here in Melbourne.. and as a student in one of the top unis in the world, I must say I'm very very grateful and blessed to be here.. Grateful to have such loving, understanding parents.. who want nothing but the best for my brothers and I.. I love you all so much, pa and mummy, really..

I'm going home soon, in less than a weeks' time. Gosh.. time really does fly.. just a moment ago I was in KLIA, departing for melbourne.. now im flying home.. I can't wait to see my brothers again, ken and shaun.. I miss those times where I fetch ken and shaun around.. where they envy me soo badly and looked me in awe because their small sized sister can drive.. I can't wait to see my parents, wise and funny and lame and generous and kind-hearted.. to go for suppers with them(that's my dad's favourite), and to play badminton with my family..to choose places to eat.. I can't wait to see my grandma.. She's such a loving woman.. always taking care of me, though she can be annoying at times.. still I miss her.. I swear I'm fetching her to KFC when i go back.. I miss her cooking.. and my maid too, for being such a great help in the house..

A lot of my friends have already left.. I'm so happy and excited for them!! =) Well it's going to be my turn soon.. so yeap.. hehe.. All I can say to my family is that: The house is going to be noisy again!!
Alright, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my holidays in melb.. so far I've gone to the beach, shop a little, gone to crown to play black jack, and chill a lot.. now at elaine's place where it's so peaceful as it's far far away from the city.. been drinking every now and then too.. lovin' it! :P see you all soon, very soon.. I can't wait to board the plane.. and eat the food on the plane.. I love it!!

Hugs from me =)

My gosh.. I'm super sleepy now.. And it's only 8.50 at night!! And my exams are officially over today! Was supposed to shop at Chapel Street with the girls but it rained.. Speaking of the rain today, Melb's weather was being.. oh my gosh what's that word again? (To Jun Shen, remember the words we were learning the other day at the library? do let me know if you remember it! something abt the weather..) So we girls decided for Melbourne central instead.. Man I seriously put on weight already.. It's obvious that my tummy is bulging out all the time now, my thighs are flabby, my arms are getting fatter.. ahh i miss those times where I can just put on a spaghetti and look good!! =( anyway who cares, i still love food and i live to eat so.. put on a bit of weight also nvm lah I suppose? And at night(which is now), we were all supposed to go to the commerce End of Exams party at Royal Melbourne Hotel.. but yuet and all of us jus weren't up for it anymore since we're dead tired.. I had only 3 hours of sleep last night! And I wasn't studying either, just couldn't sleep.. Oh gosh I just had my shower and I'm yawning like crazy already.. Have to do laundry, start packing(I'm leaving IH on saturday), grr so many things to do!! And the weather's bloody cold today!! Freezing.. Seriously, last 3 days were HOT LIKE MAD and today it was COLD TILL MY SPINES ACHE... This morning had to walk under the rain to the exam hall some more.. And the best thing is? It didn't stop raining, not UNTIL NOW... Oh I'm going to the beach tomorrow! Yes la :) Okay today's post is a bit boring and random I know, and i whine a lot..(only for today k! i normally don't whine a lot now) that's because I'm soo exhausted and I just want to sleep but I can't cause I have lots to do.

Things to do after the exams, which naturally, starts tonight:

1. Hit the beach!
*yes, tomorrow!! with jo, ching & all*

2. Club at Lavish and Seven, at least, before I head back to M'sia
*yuet, suyan, mich, pj, shen, sandy?!*

3. Go crown to err gamble a bit!! hehe :)
*pj, jun shen?*

4. Shopping!! (omg how can i place this no.4? this just proves I'm not much of a shopper.. but yes I need to shop, wanna buy stuff for family & friends :))
*jacq, yuet?*

5. Watch all the movies & tv shows I've been postponing

6. Start looking for accomodation in case my bro joins me next year
(if he's not joining me next yr I will most likely continue staying at IH for another yr)

7. Look for potential jobs too (for next year)

8. TOUR THE CITY and make sure I know my way around
(that's cause i suck so bad in directions)
*someone's gonna help me out with this haha*

9. Try eating at as many italian restaurants as I can on Lygon street!

10. Picnic at the Botanical Garden :)

Hmm, what else.. Oh yeah! to attend one badminton training.. you know, to see if it's effective.. if it is I'll continue.. Haha

**

Alright that's all for now, tomorrow, Fri and Sat's gonna be looong days. Long and hopefully eventful, productive :) it will be!! For those who are going back M'sia.. Have a safe flight okay!!

Oh and before I forget..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN *ahem* ONG! aka "Sze Keat THE MAN"
(he goes by the name Ryan in London now, i don't know why)

The monkey and I during my birthday party this year.

You know what this keat did ar? He made me say out loud "Sze Keat you're thee maann!" and recorded in his phone.. he uses it against me each time we argue about something.. or rather, in a heated up debate.. or, he just play it just to annoy me! He sometimes can be such a pain in the ass, saying things which are very much nonsense.. like, when he manages to get a good car park right outside taylor's.. he'll go "I AM GOD." and most of the time, he thinks he's seth cohen, always saying "Oh I'm so sexy & gorgeous all the girl wants me." EVEN AUNTIES are attracted to you right, sze keat?? And he can be quite kiamsap too, hehe, always stealing my McD's.. eh wait, or is it me who steal your food?? Anyway, he won't cheng you eat unless it's a veryyy rare ocassion :D good la, he's cautious with his money!!

Despite all these, he is a friend, in many ways. Not only a normal friend he is to me, but a very dear one :) Yes those times where we studied in McD's till 1 in the morning? And I would bombard him with tons of math questions. And those times where we go One u & mamak and chill. And our initial plan of jogging together which I always ffk. And me being his driver INITIALLY then he became mine for a while.

K la I praised you enough already keat!! Hope you're doing well in London.. having the time of your life there =) Also, hope our friendship remains for as long as it could be!!

Also, Happy birthday Jim!! He has the same birthday as keat, I remember :) U have a good one too ya! One who never fail to tease me EVERYTIME we see each other. hehe..

See ya all and have a good week :)

**

P/S: I finally decided to sign up for Facebook. Gave in to peer pressure(nah kidding!) I'm doing it for my good friends who are in UK, malaysia, U.S., everywhere... Yes for all of you!!

And Siew Mei, I just got your email & each time I do a smile is plastered on my face :D Ur words mean a lot to me and I miss you equally as much too!! *huggies*

My parents are soo adorable, they read my blog, they COMMENT on it.. Haha. LOVE YOU, pa & mummy! :) See u all SOON..

4 Mozart girls reunite + Fine Dining @ Elaine's

Today's weather was soo bloody hot!! 37 deg max?? My god, walking to the exam hall(which takes about 20 mins) was such a pain.. Plus I had a jumper on..I know, come to think of it now.. why did I wear it.

And in the exam hall, the invigilator even asked me: "You might want to take this out, it's not necessary(pointing at my jumper)."

I stared at her.

She said, "You have nothing on inside, do you?"

"No," I answered.

"Hope the heat cools off then."

Hahaha...Thank god I survived throughout the whole paper. :)

**

Anyway!! I promised 3 of my girls this post!! Yes, it's exactly what the heading says:

FINE DINING @ ELAINE'S

Most importantly, it was to meet up with Su Yi as she came down from Sydney! We all miss her so much...

Last wed, after my QM paper, I went to meet up with Suyi & Jo at the melb central station and we train-ed all the way to huntingdale where elaine picked us up :) 40 mins train ride man!! We were off to Safeway to shop for groceries.. Yes, we were gonna cook!!

Jo darling & I :) in Elaine's car
*I love her tons!! I know I said this many times. Haha!*

Our driver!
(Small girl driving a huge ass car)

My girls ;)
Aren't they just cute? Love you all!

Now that's Suyi, ever crazy and hyper she is.. =)

Ooh ooh and on the way driving, guess what we saw?? We saw this ALCOHOL DRIVE-THROUGH thing.. goodness me. I mean, McD's drive through, normal la.. but for alcohol?? AWESOME stuff!!! Jo said we had to take a pic of it and we did :) Haha..

See?? :)

They have all sorts of alcohol!

Oh, we needed rum cause Suyi needed it to bake tiramisu. Not because we are hardcore drinkers okay.. Don't go around thinking.. Hehe.

Then it's back at Elaine's superbly gorgeous houseee! Cooking time :)

Let me introduce all of you to...

Quiche.

From the online dictionary, it is defined as:

a pielike dish consisting of an unsweetened pastry shell filled with a custard and usually containing cheese and other ingredients, as vegetables, seafood, or ham.

We had bacons, tomatoes and mushrooms for the contents and it was YUMMY!!! =D Thinking about it now makes my tummy growl... yeesh!! Credits to elaine for her awesome idea, baking and even better outcome :)

And that's ME chopping garlic!!
(Suyi and Jo taught me an efficient way to chop garlics!! Now I'm a PRO hehehe)

And that's Suyi dear making her tiramisuuu :)

Our table set-up!

Well, mostly it was me who set up the table.. cause I didn't contribute any dishes(except for chopping garlics & washing veges and maybe just frying).. Elaine baked her quiche, Jo cooked eggs & veges, Suyi with her tiramisu.. Sighh so it leaves me to the most ke-le-feh contribution. Nonetheless, it's pretty, right??

OUR MAIN COURSE: QUICHE all well baked :)

Jo's yumyy eggs :)

Jo's veges.
(My first time eating veges with soo much oil in it haha but it tasted GREAT! This proves I'm deprived of all the good chinese food. IH veges are RAW, by the way)

Damn I miss all these home cooked food
so much!

CHEERS EVERYONE!

To: "Good Health and Happiness" as quoted by Suyi

2 of my lovely girls :)

Me and Suuuyiiii =))

Suyi's tiramisu!
(It's her specialty and it tasted just like how it looks like-perfect)

We talked talked talked.. bout our lives.. about our old school friends.. about everything under the sun. It was amazing.

As quoted by Jo: "I miss all these conversations with all of you!"

*I agree with you dear!*

Our faces @ 2 a.m :

Now, now.. I know what my dad's gonna say when he sees the picture above..
(It's a pic of Jo & I acting lesbo while Suyi acting jealous)

"Wei Lynn, please take that picture out. You look like a lesbian there. You don't want people to think that you're a lesbian."

I'm hereby announcing that I'm not a lesbian, pa!

You just crack me up laaa. Yes, my whole family reads my blog. In fact, my mom says everytime she goes online, the first thing she would do is to check my blog if I'd updated. My goodness.... Hehehehe.

Two shorties posing.

Oh look at the lobster on elaine's kitchen wall!! I find it sooo cute BUT SCARYY...

Yes, I find them equally amusing too!

Jo did, too!

My pretty gorgeous Suyi :)

Our faces at 4 a.m. are in Suyi & Jo's camera.. So yep I cant post any here. We slept at 6.30 a.m. by the way!! Haha just when the sun is rising... :)

Elaine's PRINCESS BED...
*Yes that's what I call it cause it reminds me of those kinda bed sheets you will find the olden China princesses have on their beds :) but i looove it!*

Whole night was spent talking, talking, talking... Man I miss all these!

Next morning(afternoon):

4 MOZART GIRLS RE-UNITED!
(We were in 4 & 5 Mozart in high school)

At the train station heading to the city to meet up the mozart guys hehe for lunch.

**
All in all, I HAD FUN GIRLS!! so so so much!!! I can imagine us drinking coffee 20 years down the road.. exchanging stories.. Laughing at the silliest thing ever.. My..

Love you all!!!!

And Suyi, I will see you in december in Malaysia! And Jo too. And elaine, very soon!

Something's been bothering me lately; and someone wise has given me these advices:

1) Imitation is the best form is flattery.
2) The universe has sent me this.. to make me a more patient person.

Omg! I soo can't believe it!

I just placed two orders, two, not one, online.. to purchase..

Music scores.

Don't laugh at me but it's my first time buying something online & I personally find it very amusing!

These piano scores better be worth it I tell you. The two orders I placed are my favourite songs and I've been searching these scores high and low (for free of charge scores, of course) but to no avail.. So I finally gave in.

Come on, think long-term!! If I am able to master these 2 songs (which I'm very very determined to do so), it will stick with me for life!! *So I can show off whenever people come over to my place, OR show off when i'm at their place...* hehe.

Haha of course not! It's for self-satisfaction baby.

OK i didn't study at all today, better start soon. Later, after grey's :) I've started watching grey's! Hahaha I like :D

Oh oh! And thisss.. is my exam hall. My FIRST EVER exam in Melbourne Uni yesterday.

Awesome, right?!

That's Ching on top, showing this really "unhappy" look claiming I made her look like a tourist.

Hmm, what else...

Oh I like french. Learning quite a bit now..

Which brings me to think, and laugh eventually at this:

"Come on, let's go! Let's do this! I swear..."

Seems to be someone's favourite sentence. It's stuck in my head now!!! But, in a good way I guess, motivates me to study.

P/s: Mr.Doughnut (the guy in doughnut king) gave me another free doughnut todayy! Ahh.. Of how a simple smile, and an amiable disposition can bring about happy things in life ;)

I'm happy I should blog more often :D

Bye!

Studying in a group is fun ;)

And I didn't know PJ could be so serious & committed in his studies! Plus the fact that he could master english is superb, considering that french is his first language.

**

Importantly, my brother Ken's finals commences this week! He's doing SAM in Taylor's. He's such a brilliant boy, all he needs is a little more effort and discipline in his studies, he'll do great. He has been working hard or so I've heard from him.. so, you'll do great okay ken! Jie has faith in you =) and jie misses you a lott!

That's my brother Ken & I.

And in case my other younger brother(I have 2 brothers) sees this and gets jealous... Haha just joking, Shaun! Here's a pic of me and my second younger brother Shaun. Oh!! I wanna congratulate you for a job well done :) He won first place in his school's hip hop competition!!! He claims that there's a mixture of break dancing in it some more. Jie's SO proud of you!! =)

"Break dancer" bro Shaun & I.

**

Also, it happens to be Pin Yu's 19th birthday todayy!! (5th Nov)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PIN!!!

He's one of the greatest friends that I have and I really treasure the friendship we share. Not sure if he thinks the same way la.. But yeah get to know him and you'll see for yourself that he's a damn nice guy- wise, rational, patient, caring, funny, great listener and humble(eh wait, this one maybe not).

Why do I say he's rational? Because he knows his limits when it comes to drinking. In fan's house when we had drinking sessions, he knows he has to stay sober & get us all back home safely. Patient because he always tolerates my indecisiveness in choosing places to eat. Haha.. from East wing to west wing back to east wing in One u eh? Funny because his jokes(which doesn't come often but when it does, it'll make you laugh till you can't stop) are one of a kind, along with Andrew & Roy. The three musketeers la!

I can still remember last year where you celebrated your birthday at Italiannies @ One u. Omg one year has passed already!

Anyway, here's a pic of PIN yu:

At Centrepoint McD's :)

I was contemplating which pic to post up, couldn't decide so I'll just post two of them.

When I come back, we'll celebrate okay!!

Thursday, November 1, 2007

Hello!! Weather in Melbourne was being "impulsive" again. Was hot & sultry in the afternoon and BOOM turned super cold in the evening-night.. All because it rained la, but still??

Before coming to Australia a little over 3 months ago, I remembered asking around what do aussies talk about.. how to intiatie convos etc.. And my friends in aus would tell me that they talk about the weather. Now I get why. That's because I'm turning into one of them too!! Each time I see someone, I'd go: "It's freezing today, isn't it?" OR "Gosh it's hot today!"

Anyway, I skipped 2 meals in IH today. :( Had lunch with caleen and dinner with tze shin. I felt guilty though eating out as all my meals in college are being paid for already.. oh well, one good thing though- managed to catch up with old friends. Besides I'm deprived of good chinese food and fast food ;) I promise to be a good gal and eat in college tomorrow and days to come.

Was freezing when I walked back.. It was raining okay!! Suddenly I banged into this pole(street light) and my heart stopped beating. I thought I bumped into a big buff man who was trying to rob me!! Gosh... But it's all good, I'm safe now in my room. Speaking of which, I haven't really introduced my room yet. Hahahaha always introducing people but not the lovely little room which has been providing me warmth and shelter...

So here it is :)

Overall view:

Yep... I am (or hopefully) going to study finance now.. Paper's on tuesday, 6th november. It's either I do that, or I sleep. It's a choice between scoring and taking the easy and lazy way out- sleep. Opportunity cost people!!!

I'll end this post with a quote by W. Clement Stone:
"When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it."

What's my mission again??

To score H1 or at least a H2A in my Finance I paper!!!!!
I know I can I know I will and I shall.

**

Good night all :)
