I've been meaning to blog since... forever. But haven't found the time. I have so much to say but each time I am about to get to blogging, I feel tired. Anyway I made it a point to blog tonight since I am staying in on a Friday night :) yes, I am. As surprising as that may sound. I realised that my blog has been deprived of pictures.. so here goes a few, enjoyy! :p

Can you believe that one year has passed already? I almost couldn't. It's insane, how time flies by so quickly. I can still remember this time around the year last year during Uni's Open Day and Colleges' Open Day. Haha, in fact, I started my blog with posts of me going on a college-hop! Remember, readers??

Anyways, about 2 weeks ago was the Open Day for both Uni and Residential Colleges. I signed up to be a tour guide for the college I'm living in. For the mere 3 hours of work that I put in, I get paid (or rather, reduced from my accomodation fees) 65 dollars. A pretty good deal, eh? Some of the locals were really friendly and I really like them! They make you feel appreciated :)

Outside IH- free BBQ sausages for visitors! :)

We were wearing the IH rugby jersey.. Oh I love it and am gonna get one! despite it costing 70 dollars. crazy man. but it's for memories, and plus i get to use the 65 i earned to subsidize this merchandise :) hehe! Luke and I visited a few other colleges that day as well, reaping free doughnuts from Whitney College and free coffee from University College. It was so fun because Luke and I pretended to be high school students inquiring about the college indicating we might want to stay there next year. Reminds me of last year when I toured around colleges with Ben!

Oh, and I remember feeling so tired that day. Only slept at 6 a.m. the night before. Jo darling cooked a few of us a marvelous dinner, and we headed to karaoke after that. My 2nd time karaoke-ing in Melbourne! I had a blast. I must, must go again one day soon :) I miss singing 'zhi shao hai you ni' and all the other chinese, english oldies. I'm such an old-fashioned girl, some people even say I belong to the older generations. Hehe.

Oh, yes. I remember now... on the night of the Open Day itself, it was the Olympics badminton finals between Lee Chong Wei & Lin Dan. I walked all the way to College Square Lygon at 10.30 at night with Luke (thank you, Luke!) just to watch the match as they've got Foxtel there. Some IH-ers were trying to stream from the net the match which I highly doubted they could. To my dismay, Foxtel did not show the match! In fact, the IH-ers managed to stream ittt!! Sigh, quite disappointed la that night. Oh well.

A few weeks back, Alvin, my Sri KDU class mate, celebrated his 20th at Eve, Southbank. It was good meeting up with old old pals whom I love and missed!

The girls who went :)

Other College events:

Mexican Night with Monicaa :)

Winter Dinner with yee von, a beautiful girl inside out! :)

Lastly, presenting...

ICSS Moulin Rouge Ball.

Yes, organised by ICSS- the society I'm in! Those of you in Melbourne, please please make it! We're putting a lot of effort making this this ball the bomb. Support okay people? :)

P.S: Through having a post in a society that I realize that with power comes responsibilities. To make something work, the whole process counts, from planning, to delegating, to having meetings and meetings and meetings, to finalizing things, to actually carrying out the tasks, it's not easy! But when you imagine how beautiful the end product's gonna be, it's all worth it!

Yuet & I in one of our chalk-runs outside Union House. Beautiful, right?? :)

Oh my god, haha. I was on High Table last night and that was on my table seat :) just felt like posting it up for memories! Been to High table three times so far. First was last year, when I just got to IH, and called by the office. Second time was for the badminton team who went to the finals. And third time (last night) was for the people who helped out in Open Day. I love high tables, why? 'cause we get nice nice pastries and winee during pre-drinks. And more wine during dinner. And we get to sit one level higher in the dining hall with the head of college and tutors. I drank too much wine last night and fell asleep straight after dinner. I'm a terrible drinker :p then again it's no surprise to many ;)

Good night, hope to update soon! :)

I just realised one thing.

Many things we get involved in this life is because of the company. Company being the people and friends we like and enjoy being with that prompt us to join.. Say, a society, a club, a company, a job or even a volunteer work!

That's because we are most happy when we are with people who are sincerely nice and concerned, people who we can be ourselves, and people who believe in us.

I was just thinking about it after receiving a message from a friend who's doing the 40 hour famine thingy. She's such a self-less girl and I think everyone should emulate her. I would gladly sponsor her out of my own pocket money, which I think I will do so. As compared to other people who may not be that nice in life (this is entirely up to one's judgement for everyone's judgement differs), would you sponsor them, or would you sponsor people who are genuinely nice?

Lol I'm getting nowhere here! Anyway, my point is, we should just be nice to everyone in this life (and extra nice to people you treasure). Note: we not necessarily have to be nice to people who are mean to us, but i guess just don't do any harm to them and it's all good. For we won't know what's installed for us in the future. We might just need them ya know ;)

6 Things I Learnt Over the Past Year

- Always be grateful for what you have in life, no matter where you are and what you have.
- People treat you the way you treat them, be nice to them and they will too, in return.
- Prioritising what’s important in life, e.g. always ask myself where I am and where I'm heading. Also, spending time with close and loved ones should be priority.
- Never to believe exactly what people tell you unless it’s their own experience; always give the other the benefit of the doubt.
- Never to be too attached to material things (ah, screw my lost watch lah! What’s the point in stressing about it?? though I must admit that it wasn't easy letting it go. such a beautiful watch it was)
- Money is so, so, so important and sometimes we don't realize the importance of it. That's why it'd be good if we can earn our own money. And to save as much, if possible.

I just saw some facebook pictures of a childhood friend who has just graduated from LSE Law, first class honours.

Her wearing the graduation grown; going up the stage receiving the cert. That special moment. All the effort and hard work put in being paid off, it was all worth it.

Man, I wanna be like her too!! Wait, I am going to be like her!

Just imagine how proud her parents are of her. Her dad's my dad's childhood friend as well, and recently he was telling me he was gonna go london for her convocation. Just by saying that I can imagine how excited and overjoyed he was.

From today onwards, she'll be my role model. U can be involved in many things, party hard, but studying is of utmost priority in uni. I am determined now! :p

Just got back from Brunswick, bought some Oreos and a box of Easy Macs for snacks purposes just in case IH food doesn't satisfy my insatiable appetite, which is usually the case. Decided to have KFC for dinner and dump my late meal aside, how 'thrifty' would that make me =( Also, I got myself a Sidney Sheldon book for only 5.75 dollars- despite me having read all of his series. I just absolutely adore Sidney's books. His work is a piece of art, hence I didn't bother thinking twice spending that money.

Had a short and great chat with Jia Wei during dinner. He told me that he's aiming to spend only 300-400 dollars this whole semester, which is about 4 months. To many that may seem like a very small amount, but to think again, it's actually possible to spend only that amount of money. Firstly, all our meals are provided already in IH. Plus, electricity and water bills are included in the IH bill our parents paid for. So, the money that we'll be spending are just on outings during the weekends. That made me re-think. If he can do it, why can't I?

Starting tomorrow, I shall spend only when I really need to, since buying the Sidney book has deducted major points from this new goal of mine. I'm going to eat in as much as I can, and only spend when I go out during the weekends. I'm aiming for a total of 500 dollars until I return Malaysia end of the year. And that does not include the Corporate Law textbook I'm going to purchase, which is gonna cost me a whopping 100 aussie dollars. If only it wasn't an open book exam, I'd gladly just borrow from IH library- but it isn't and thus I need to highlight and make my own notes in the book.

Did I mention that I can't find my watch? My precious stainless steel watch my mom presented me when I was 15, when I scored straight A's in my PMR. I still remember what she told me, that the watch will last me for a very, very long time, and I will wear it during my first job interview. It's a pretty watch. I miss it badly now. I really hope it will surface one of these days. One thing I don't quite like about myself now is that I tend to be disorganized. I wasn't like this last time, I'm not sure when it got to me. Now, my things are just everywhere and I tend to take for granted the things that I have. Texted my mom yesterday about my watch. She replied saying it's okay, get a new one if it doesn't turn up in 10 days. It's ok to have two watches.

Speaking of which, I really feel blessed and loved to have a family like mine. I was just unpacking and decorating my room the other day, and boy, looking at the things I told family to get me, made me feel... like a princess. It's little things like, I want the sticking board I had in my room back home, and they got me two. I emailed my mom that I wanted an ipod and speakers, and she gave me her ipod and this edifier thing to stick my ipod in. I mentioned I wanted this ralph lauren perfume, this kerastase hair masque, this and that, and they got me, everything. And a few days back, I sms-ed my mom and asked her why am I majoring in Finance and Accounting again- it being my choice solely. She emailed me promptly the next day and made me realize things in perspective. You see, sometimes I wish my parents didn't give me that many choices and lets me decide what I want most of the time. Sometimes I wish they'd decide for me.

A few days ago, I received this parcel from the front office:

A photo frame from my mom; now displayed on my bedside table.

It means a lot to me, thank you mummy.

P.S.: I chopped off my almost-going-to-be-long hair; and now it's back to how it was in form 1-3, short boy-cut hair like. Not sure if it's a good thing. I really did want to leave it long this year. Fate just wasn't on my side, hasn't been.
