Updates so far =)
I really felt guilty for skipping the badminton social game yesterday. (But I'm over it now :p) Last semester, the amount of times I attended the weekend social games are only a handful. Now that I got into the committee this year, I should really take this more seriously. On a more positive note, I could feel some slight improvements in my game during the past two times that I played. I'm happy! Practice makes perfect, how true is that. Of course, one must also be humble enough to keep learning. I really, really hope to bring my game to a higher level this year! This calls for more games, thus more experience => more confidence!
To make myself feel better, I only missed the game today because I was totally knackered after the volunteering of the run4kids marathon. Funds are raised for the kids every year over here in Aus through this marathon. I got up at 4.30 in the morning (I only managed to sleep at 2 the night before). I've always wanted to be part of some volunterring programmes and here I am achieving it, my ever first one. I was a sector marshal, hence my responsibilities include guiding the runners along the tracks, and to look out for runners who need help. Though my contribution may be minial, it's a stepping stone nonetheless.
As I decided to skip badminton in the afternoon (I crashed on my bed after brunch), I chanelled the energy I have left to tidy up my room. I did laundry (to wash off the past week's clothes and most importantly bed sheets, comforter sheets) and I wiped off all the dust in my room. Dust has seem to have taken a particular liking towards my room as every corner of my room is filled.. with dust. Damn you, dusts. But but, I feel so much better now that my room is clean :) And my comforter and pillow sheets smell soo good! :p To add on, the weather now is a cooling much!
Well, Easter break officially ended yesterday. How did I spend my one week break?
I hit it off with a day trip to Grampians with the International Commerce Students Society. It was a relaxing trip, with many stops in between for photo taking sessions. I expected hikings and going through the roughs in the jungle, but apparently not. Nonetheless I enjoyed myself with good company and I made a few new friends as well. What was funny was that Hil and I were hyped up about something (an inside joke) that we took so many presidency and vice presidency shots. Lol. Don't bother guessing what joke is this about... :)
Also, my floor mates of Wadham First Floor and I rented a car and hit the roads to Mildura, to visit one of our dear floormates Zach. Despite it being a long, exhausting 6 and a half hour drive, we enjoyed every minute of it. How could we not, when the company was awesome and what with Feli's ipod playing in the car with DJ Khatri and Chouhan spinning! Hehe. Another inside joke. :p Who went? Feli, Wiggy, Khatri, Harsh & I. We had so many hilarious and lame ass moments. Sang-kyu and Ming Hui was over at Zach's place as well. I will elaborate more of this trip in another post. :)
It was also Jo's birthday during the one week break. Her birthday fell on the 27th of March. Her beloved Nick organized a surprise party for her where plans were made weeks back. Ching also helped out a lot and through this I could see the wonders of friendship, how one is willing to go the extra mile just to make a friend happy. I hope I am one to good friends of mine. And if I'm not to some, I hope to be one. The surprise was held at Puggs, Lygon Street and many of Jo's good friends around and cousins turned up. She was shocked at first and I could see tears in her eyes as she hugged friends from one to another. I am so happy to see her so happy. To those who know jo, you'll definitely agree with me that she's one great friend, and I feel so fortunate to know her.
Other than that, I spent my time having lunches and dinners with dear friends whom I was supposed to meet yet have not had the time/chance to meet. For instance, having lunch with PJ, dinner with Mich and Suyan, lunch with high school friends.
I hit Friday off with some studying (chit-chatting more like it) in the State Library with a few high school peeps. Then it was dinner with them, and clubbing at Seven. I finally checked Seven out after soo long. It was a short clubbing session as we (Khai, Justin and Jee Wei) were tired and weren't really up for it. Nevertheless, it was good seeing them again. I don't know why but I feel really comfortable hanging out with old friends. This means we should always treasure old friendships even after making new ones :)
I've got two tests this week- Macroeconomics and Principles of Business Law. And many tutorials to be completed. And with a BPA assignment up already! :( Considering that I've been slacking for a month now, this calls for some serious studying business this week. Not that I will be thaaat serious, but I will try my best to buck up in my studies. Sometimes I forget that I'm here in Melbourne to study and to graduate with a first class honours degree. Hehe. Just joking, papa and mummy! I will have to keep telling myself that from now on. Lol. :)
Alright people, that's some updates in my life here so far. Will update soon when I have the time. Take care, everyone.
P.S.: Happy Birthday Char and Ding Shyong! One in San Fransisco, one in London. Wishing the both of you.. the best in everything that you do. And to be happy, always. :)

To mummy, with love.
Today marks the birthday of someone very important in my life.
My mother.
I love her more than anything else in the world. Sometimes when I think back of the things she has done for me, really.. I get speechless. She has always allowed me to do whatever that I want. Things which are rationally okay and benefitial of course. E.g. try new things like arts, taekwondo, guitar, dancing, gym classes, golf. She's a woman who believes in providing the best for her kids, so is my dad. I love them to bits and pieces.
My mom is a generous woman. I will always remember what she taught my bros and I- to give when we can. If we are in a position to give, we should give. My dad used to be quite kiamsiap.. but mummy has changed him over the years! hehe. For instance, now my dad is not so hesitant on spending on our shopping needs :p
My mom has taught me to enjoy life, enjoy every single moment in the present. I can see that she is now- through all her badminton, karaoke, sinning-on-food sessions. She enjoyes the company of good friends and another thing she taught me is that- you don't need to have a lot of friends, you just need a small group who you feel happy, comfortable hanging out with. The same goes to relationships- you don't need many guys to like you, you just need one who really loves you. I could still remember turning to her when I liked this guy and with her help, we ended up being together. It was soo funny. Memories :)
There are so many other things I'd like to say about my mom, but I don't think it's ever gonna end. So I'll just keep it short and conclude that, she's one hell of a charismatic woman. And I'm ever so proud, grateful, and fortunate to have her as not only a mother, but also a friend, in many ways. I love you, mummy!
I asked her what does she want for her birthday. She said: "My birthday wish is you be happy and healthy. No need presents la" I promise you this, mummy. Happy 49th birthday and I hope for the same for you- to be happy and healthy.

I have exactly 20 mins before I go down for lunch and head for class. Blame me for choosing to sleep after the firedrill and early breakfast. Yes, there was a firedrill this morning at IH! Got up at 6 a.m. and was wide awake =) I slept at 10 last night, earliest so far. Anyways, let me continue with my weekend.. :)
I was delighted as I got to see one of my very good friends, Jo. We have made plans to meet each other since weeks ago, but to no avail. The main purpose was to celebrate Khai's birthday, my post-birthday, and Jo's upcoming birthday! :p What a perfect combination... We chose Brunetti's on Lygon Street.
Jo, Khai & I
We were supposed to act 'amused'
but then I saw Khai laughing at us so... I laughed as well. Blame him! But Jo did a pretty good job! Hehe.
Khai making a wish(damn long la his wish until I also feel like blowing the candles already which I did), and Jo posed happily for the camera ;)
Ok, now finally all 3 of us blowing the candle (I decided to wait for the rest :p)
This is to one of the nicest, most amazing, compassionate girl on earth :)

Shin's 20th which lasted 3 days ;)
My weekend was spent with new friends and close friends I've never seen in ages, and yet when we met- it was just like before- all fun, happiness and lots of laughter. What was the ocassion that brought us together? Lol. It was Tze Shin's 20th! Yes, and I spent 3 days in a row with her. Might as well dedicate this entire post for her. :D
On Thursday, we dined at one of the high end restaurants in Docklands: Berth Restaurant & Bar. The invitation was exclusive as she designed it beautifully and sent it out to a few of her closest friends. I'm glad I'm one of them. :) That night itself, I got to know a whole bunch of Monash Law students (as she is one herself) and I was the only Melbourne Uni student. Something new for a change eh. ;)
(Don't ask me why but I just seem to remember prices of everything)
The WMS gang who went.. :) Justin & Choon Yauw
Justin & I
We used to be close back in WMS and we had so much fun in Math class. Man I missed him! Was so happy to see him that night :) Yes, u're still my beloved pet bro, Justin!
The birthday girl & the cake we 3 got her. :D
On Friday, I wanted a quiet night-in as rehearsals for French National Night was on after dinner and saturday night was already reserved for the national night itself and shin's huge birthday bash at a club. BUT, gosh this birthday girl ar(whose real birthday wasn't even on that day) wanted to club. Also, I was choosing between her and Khai's thing at seven (khai's birthday was the next day itself). Well, I chose shin's as I was seeing Khai the next day already. Besides, Alvin's friend got us free entries so why not? :) We headed to EVE @ Southbank.
All I could remember was Shin getting pissed drunk that night and I took care of her. Now I know how it feels like to take care of drunk friends ;) I admit, I was a careless drinker last semester and got drunk quite a few times. (Sorry my dearest friends if I have ever troubled you all in any way). However, I promised myself that I will not drink till the extent of getting drunk anymore. The feeling of puking... just sucks. Along with other reasons as well. But, but, it's ok shin, don't worry about it! :p
Shin's birthday celebrationS (note the s) continued and yes it was the final one- on Saturday night, @ Boulevard. She bought a few bottles and so.. a few of us had free entries. :)
Silly U Jun, Jee Wei, me & Shin
The whole WMS gang along with a few friend's friends =)

Khai, Justin and I had tons of memories way back when we were in highschool. Hehe. We, or rather I, was immature then and so things happened and we kinda grew apart. Nevertheless, I am so so happy that we managed to gather that night again after so long and talked like old friends. You guys, including u choon yauw yes hehe, have grown up to be such mature gentlemen! It's really rare to see such pure hearted and sincerely caring guys nowadays and I feel so blessed to have known you guys. Not to mention, proud too ;) We'll meet up during Easter break and I can't wait! :)
Finally,
Happy 20th again darling. I've known you since we were form 2.. we were 14 years old back then. U used to be this shy, quiet girl who had a big heart. And now, 6 years later, your heart is still as big and open and warm as ever. Except that now u're more outspoken, confident, and mature. I hope you stay the angelic Shin I know :) I was looking through some old stuff and I came across the letter you wrote me when I left WMS in form 3. Do you still remember it? Lol. Anyway, thanks for being a great friend. Love you, girl!

Last Saturday, I attended a picnic brunch at the Royal Botanical Gardens organized by three clubs- ICSS, ILSS, and IESS. Needless to say, the sight of it matches exactly the name of the place :) The scenery was beautiful, serene, overwhelming! To top it off, we had our picnic near the little stream. Food was free too and we fed our stomachs with dominos pizzas, sandwiches, fruits, drinks.
As we were walking to RBG.. The Shrine of Remembrance looked majestic.
From far- look at the amount of people who came for the gathering(or for the free food, I don't know :p)
I came with them- Yuet, Ming, Suyan and Khee Wei
Suyan & I enjoying the serenity of the Garden...
In the evening, we headed to Canberwall (pardon me if my spelling is wrong) to celebrate Andrea & Shing Yun's 20th birthdayy! We decided on Sofia's, an Italian restaurant which offers absolutely delicious pasta with an even more delicious price! (my delicious here mean cheap ;p)

I managed to mingle around a little while taking in the gorgeous view we had of the lake.. too bad I didn't get to take a pic of it! :( Also, I got to know the ICSS committee a little better.. As well as members of the other two clubs. In the afternoon I went for my post badminton AGM and I played for a while. Man, it's the first time i've played since i got here and i'm so rusty!! gotta play more!

One of the best garlic breads I've ever tasted!
P.S.: I really wanted one of those huge soft toys.. but I guess luck and time wasn't on my side.. both nights I went the stalls were closing up already :(
Till then everyone!! =)
After that, we decided to stop by Federation Square near the Yarra River to join the fun of MOOMBA FEST for a while! (though we already missed the fireworks and were running late)
Since we missed the fireworks(hmmph!!) that night which I've heard heaps of awesome reviews about, I sternly decided to myself that I will catch it on Monday night (the last night) and so.. I DID! Went with a few IH friends.. and I did not regret going all the way there for it :)

Sighs I've got class from 1 to 3 later.. Principles of Business Law. And it's all the wayy in the Law building (which is damn far away) :( and i've got kitcken work to do in IH from 5-8.30 p.m. then it's dance practice for French national night at 9.30 p.m.
Till then everyone!! =)
IH's Commencement Dinner
My past weekend was pretty hectic! Classes started last week..along with many activities in Uni, e.g. free BBQ lunch by various clubs, promotion of clubs and socities which result in free classes(like dance and taekwondo for instance). I attended 2 of the free dance classes and street latin really appealed to me, i might join that. As for taekwondo... hehe I don't think so. I learned till green belt and I'm safe to say I had enough =)
Anyways, IH's Commencement Dinner fell on Thursday, the 6th of March. Naturally, we had to dress formal and had the usual pre-drinks and stuff which I very sadly missed 'cause my floor mates weren't ready and I had to wait for them. lol.

Luxiann!!
After dinner, we all headed to this cafe in Uni for desserts.. it's the tradition of IH to walk to Uni after the commencement dinner. Each of us received this light thingy(u know those where u play with during christmas and new yrs eve), and we had to hold it(with our gowns still on), and walk to uni! Was soo funn.. makes me feel like I'm in Harry Potter land..hehe. I love the Harry Potters' series okay!!
Okay just when we were leaving IH with the light thingy in our hands =S
So basically that's how the Commencement dinner went.. was something different and I've never experienced it before. I came in last year July that's why I missed it! the whole bunch headed to Pugs later on (the uni's pub),but I was too tired to do so.
It's dinner time soon and my tummy's growlingg..will continue with another post soon :)
