Because tonight will be the night...

I was at the library just now whilst listening to my ipod, and this song came up and hit me there & then. I have always loved this song, but you know how sometimes when you listen to songs, it hits you at a certain point? So immediately when I came home, I youtube-ed it to search for the original video. I was shocked (in a good way of course!) at the amount of people out there who can sing this song SO WELL, all accompanied with the guitar. What more is that- most of them are GIRLS! I am so, so, amazed. I also want to play the guitar & sing like that! ;)

For those of you who have yet to listen to this amazing song, here you go:

'Fall for you'
by Secondhand Serenade

The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting
Could it be that we have been this way before?
I know you don't think that I am trying
I know you're wearing thin down to the core

But hold your breath
Because tonight will be the night
That I will fall for you over again
Don't make me change my mind

**
It's such an amazing song. Don't you all agree?

Go youtube videos by other people as well :) I particularly like the one by juliajulay, silentview and krista nicole. Their voice... I have no words to describe so please, go listen and tell me,

did it melt your heart like how it melt mine?

I'm back on high demand! (hehe bet you guys missed my self-praises too right) Anyway, I'm so happy and amazed that many of you still drop by my blog every now and then, and for some (almost all the time?), and question me why did I privatise it, and to invite you as readers. Haha. Thanks, guys! It's always good to know that your friends back home are thinking of you still. :p And rest assured that I'm thinking of you all too! Really can't wait to go back!!

So for starters, let's do some updates. My exams are going on mid-way now, hence the last emo post. I know, I talk as if some major drama has happened, right? Quite major ok, I blew away my 1st question in OB today just like that just because I skipped that part in the lecture notes, thinking it was unimportant. Silly me, everything is important, especially when your lecturer asked you to particularly read just that week's lecture notes. It's ok, it's over.

Also, my beloved (ahh, yes) Corporate Law paper is over & done with, on Monday. Can't believe we made and compiled notes so neatly, and didn't even come close to using them in the exam. I didn't have time to open and flip the textbook, mind you! It was a very, very interesting subject nonetheless and I'm glad I took it. No regrets. Despite me whining about it all semester, I actually enjoy reading the book because it's a whole new thing to me! Now when I look at company and business transactions, I look at it in a whole new perspective. So ppl, don't try and cheat me ok!! Don't even try.... haha. Or I might 'outsmart' you all instead.

thank you, for being such an amazing companion for the 2 weeks before exams
(still amazing, nonetheless)

the 'best friend' & I in one of the tute rooms in IH
(I took a pic of this room because it reminded me so much of those old, traditional rooms in harry potter movies)

Don't you all agree with me that he's... insatiable?

And that's how I'll end this post- by saving the best for last. Hahaha.

And after a call from my mom, some retail therapy (which I regretted later), a talk with Monica, a dose of Gossip Girl episode 10 aaand, instant noodles for dinner (i skipped IH dinner), I feel so much better! Also not forgetting, some really really sweet sms-es from 2 people :)

Seems like all we need is family, friends, food, and fun and all's good. :) It's true!

Mornings like these

Heck, morning has got to be the prettiest time of the day!

And I started off today quite differently.

I woke up at 7 (can't believe it right? i know, everyone knows i wake up at 12pm everyday, without fail), took a warm satisfying shower, and took my time to blow dry my hair. I then headed down to the dining hall for breakfast. The dining hall seemed so empty, with only a few students chatting away. I had cereals in peace, as I read the papers... I read on how Bill Clinton now supports Obama.

I then made sandwiches and packed it for lunch, as my classes will last till 2 today and I will be skipping lunch in IH. Again, I took my time to make sandwiches. I had all the time in the world, it was only 7.50 a.m. And my first class today starts at 10 a.m. Joy! =)

the style in IH- melted cheese on tomatoes with mushrooms on top ;) I love!

I only wish I could keep this waking up early thing up. :) it definitely feels good.

I almost wept reading this...

There was once this guy who is very much in love with his girl.

This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl.Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company, his future didn ' t seem too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualize any future for the both of them, so they went their own ways there and then...

Heartbroken, the guy agreed. But when he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself.

Finally with all the hard work and the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company..

You never fail until you stop trying. One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize they were his girl's parents.

With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same any more; he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He made it! What he saw next confused him, the couple was walking towards a cemetery, and so he got out of his car and followed...and he saw his girl, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone and he saw his paper cranes right beside her...

Her parents saw him. He asked them why this had happened. They explained, she did not leave for France at all. She was ill with cancer. She had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want to be his obstacle... therefore she had chosen to leave him.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. She had wanted her parents to put his paper cranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again...he can take some of those back with him...

Once you have loved, you will always love. For what's in your mind may escape but what's in your heart will remain forever.

The guy just wept...The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside her knowing you can't have her, see her or be with her ever again.... hope you understand.

Find time to realize that there is one person who means so much to you, for you might wake up one morning losing that person who you thought meant nothing to you.

Voulez vous coucher avec moi (ce soir) ?

Translate that into english and it means: Do you want to sleep with me?
Lol! Only just found that out ;) Oh btw, it wasn't an indication or anything. Just thought I'd enlighten those who didn't know the meaning of it! Since...

that famous line (in the song Lady Marmalade) is used in conjunction with none other than the... ICSS Moulin Rouge Ball 2008!!! :) :) Held at Rydges Hotel.

Of all the hard work, months of preparation, meetings after meetings, table duties, it finally paid off. And we're all very glad.

Suyan & I in-charge of ticketing & registration

Mr.Publicity who's probably the most self-less guy I've known, he forego his seat that night for our unexpected increase in number of people who turned up.

Now guys, please don't drool here, I know my girls are HOT!! =P

The sexy dance crew we hired :)

IH-ers I bumped into at the after-party!! :)
-------

What I learned from this event- being in the organizing commitee, is that in order for something to work, a whole lot of preparation is needed. It's easier said that done of course. There's a chinese saying which goes, 'being on stage for 5 minutes, takes up 10 years of work behind stage'. (direct translation)

It's a whole new experience for me because all these while I've only attended balls and parties, not knowing the effort behind it to make it happen. Through this I also see many of the commitee members, who self-lessly contributed their time and effort to making this ball a success. Without them, the ball wouldn't have been a blast. For this, I thank you my dear commitee.

A champagne toast for a job well done!

:)

To the 'longchamp' girl

... who got the prettiest Tiffany & Co's necklace instead. :D

The surprise we all gave her when the clock ticked twelve.
That's her beau :)

And dinner @ Hardware lane on the night of her birthday with none other than close friends,
where we proceeded to Carlton Bar after that for drinks.

And of course, my main course of Grilled Fish @ Vialetto's, Hardware lane :)

Happy 20th once again darling.

You're a friend in many ways, and despite the disagreements that we may have at times, I can see that you are the kind who will stand by your friends through thick & thin, and treasure them with your heart. For this, I'm glad I have known you.

I hope this birthday will be a memorable one. :)

Lots of love, lynnie. (see I don't simply give my lovee too! =p)

I was contemplating whether to go clubbing tonight or just chill at home. Clubbing at se7en with the cross dress theme sounds fun, especially if its free entry and i already have what to wear in mind ;) BUT staying at home and just chill with cereals and watching sex and the city on my laptop sounds equally fun too :( You guessed it, I chose the latter. I-games today totally worn me out as I only had 4 hours of sleep the night before. Will blog about i-games soon. :D

Anyways, on Wednesday, I went to Monash Clayton to support our baddy team in uni games for a while.. then, Elaine dear picked me up and we (Sue ann & Yee leng) headed to her Uncle Andy's place for BBQ dinner =) She's been wanting me to meet her 'truly wonderful uncle andy', as quoted Elaine. :) haha! Indeed, he's a really nice dude.
